Mizuno Tennis Shoes: The Full Court Range Explained (Australia 2026)
Tennis shoes get bought on looks, and that is how people end up sliding around on the wrong outsole. Mizuno make this easier than most brands, because the letters on the box tell you what surface the shoe was built for and almost nobody knows it. We have 20 Mizuno court shoe models on the shelf at Racquet World in Epping, and because a shoe is only useful in your size, the number that matters more is 117 pairs across 99 in-stock size variants, from $159.00 to $249.00. Here is what AC and CC mean, what separates the Wave lines, and which sizes are actually here.
20 models, 99 sizes, 117 pairs, $159.00 to $249.00
Those are three different numbers and the difference matters. Twenty is the count of distinct shoes. Ninety nine is the count of individual sizes we can sell today. One hundred and seventeen is the total pairs on hand, so most models are down to a handful of sizes rather than a full size run. AC on the box means All Court and CC means Clay Court.
The two letters after the model name are the surface code, and every product page states it outright under Surface Type. It is not a trim level and it is not a grade. Get this right and the rest of the range is easy.
AC, All Court
What the listing says: Surface Type: All Court. Two of the Wave Enforce Tour 2 listings widen that to All Court/Grass Court.
Who it is for: Hard court, synthetic grass and grass, which covers nearly every court people actually play on around Melbourne.

CC, Clay Court
What the listing says: Surface Type: Clay Court. The listing adds that it is designed specifically for clay courts, with the DuRubber outsole reconfigured to balance stability against lateral sliding.
Who it is for: Clay and en tout cas only. The CC listings never claim hard court use, so if you play on hard court the AC is the one to buy.

Two listings do not follow the pattern, and it is worth knowing before you order. The Wave Enforce Court AC for women carries AC in the name but states a Surface Type of Hard and Grass Court rather than All Court. And the badminton shoes state no surface at all: the Wave Fang Pro and the two Wave Claw 3 colourways list a Sports Category of Badminton, while only the Wave Claw EL 2 states a surface, which it gives as Indoor Court.
The four Wave lines, and what each one is for
Under the surface code sit four Wave lines. Two of them are tennis shoes and two of them are badminton and indoor court shoes. Everything below is taken from the current product pages, and where a page does not state something we have said so rather than filled in the gap.
Wave Exceed, the light one
What it is: The speed line. The listings lead on lightweight comfort, flexibility and explosive acceleration, and describe it as built for aggressive movers.
On the spec sheet: Wave Plate wave technology, a 3D Solid upper, a DuRubber outsole, and PoWnCe with Mizuno Enerzy and Enerzy NXT foams.
Weight: Listed at 320g for the mens Tour 6 and 270g for the womens Tour 6. The Tour 5 and the Wave Exceed Light do not state a weight.

Wave Enforce, the cushioned one
What it is: The stability line. The Enforce Tour 2 listings lead on cushioning, stability and ankle support rather than speed, and describe it for the hardcourt slider.
On the spec sheet: Foam Wave, an ENERZY NXT midsole, Dyna-Heel Lock Lite around the ankle, an outrigger outsole and DuRubber. The womens Wave Enforce Court instead runs an Air Mesh upper and an X10 rubber outsole.
Weight: The two Enforce Tour 2 listings that state a weight both give 375g. The Wave Enforce Court states 250g. The third Enforce Tour 2 listing has its spec fields marked TBA.
Worth knowing: The Enforce Tour 2 listing notes a 6 month outsole durability guarantee.
Wave Claw, the indoor court one
What it is: A badminton shoe. Both Claw 3 colourways list a Sports Category of Badminton, and the Claw EL 2 lists a Surface of Indoor Court.
Fit: E, wide, right across the line. The Claw 3 listing tells women to size down 1 to 1.5 sizes from the unisex size, and the Claw EL 2 is listed true to size.
Weight: 305g on the Claw 3 and 285g on the Claw EL 2, which the listing calls the lightest model in the series.

Wave Fang, the flagship
What it is: Mizuno call it their flagship badminton model. The listing describes a natural leather upper, a non stretch upper material and a redesigned heel structure.
Fit: Mens D, standard width, with a stated heel to toe drop of 12.0. The listing does not state whether it runs long or short.
Weight: 320g.

The Claw and the Fang are badminton shoes. They are on this page because they are Mizuno court shoes, they sit on the same wall in the shop and they share the sizing quirks further down, but if you are buying for tennis your two lines are the Exceed and the Enforce. We have not put a price chart on this page because it would not tell you anything. Thirteen of the 20 models sit at exactly $239.00, so the chart would be one flat wall. The useful shape is the band, and there are only three of them.
Worth knowing: Three models across the whole range, one of them womens. If you are on clay and your size is here, do not wait on it.
You want light and fast
Buy: The Wave Exceed line. The womens Tour 6 is listed at 270g against 320g for the mens, and the womens Wave Enforce Court is the lightest tennis shoe here at 250g.
Buy: The Wave Claw EL 2 if you want light and cheap, a Wave Claw 3 if you want the full spec, or the Wave Fang Pro if you want the leather flagship and a narrower D width.
If your budget is the constraint, the cheapest way onto a Mizuno court shoe is the Wave Exceed Tour 5 at $159.00 for men and the Wave Enforce Court at $179.00 for women, but check the sizes first because both are thin.
Sizing and fit, the part that matters most
A shoe in the wrong size is a bad shoe no matter what the outsole is made of, and Mizuno state fit guidance on nearly every listing. It is the most useful thing on those pages and the part people skip.
Most of the range runs slightly long
What the listings say: Thirteen of the 20 listings give the Length as Slightly Long. That means the shoe measures a touch longer than the number on the box.
What to do about it: If you are between sizes, the smaller of the two is usually the one that fits. If you can, try it on rather than guess.
Not stated: The Wave Fang Pro and both Wave Claw 3 listings do not state a length at all, only a width.
Width is where people get caught
Narrow: One model. The Wave Exceed Light for women is listed as a narrow width. If you have a wide foot this is not your shoe, whatever the price says.
Medium and D standard: Every Wave Exceed and both womens Enforce listings sit here, along with the Wave Fang Pro at D standard.
E wide: The Wave Claw 3 and Wave Claw EL 2 are both listed as E, wide. They are the widest fitting shoes in this range.
Unisex sizing is not one size scale
The Claw 3 rule: The Wave Claw 3 listing is explicit: for women, size down 1 to 1.5 sizes from the unisex size. That is a full size and a half, which is more than most people expect.
Applies to: The two Claw 3 colourways and, by the same unisex scale, the Wave Claw EL 2 and the Wave Fang Pro. Neither of those two states the rule itself.
